A teapot is the rare possession that exists entirely for other people. It holds nothing for itself; its whole design is a promise to pour outward, and a teapot that never serves anyone is generally considered a sad object. This one escapes that fate by changing category. As a registered gift it does not need to serve; it needs to belong, and belonging is a job it can do at full capacity forever. There is also the matter of the old internet joke, the one where a server declines to brew coffee on the grounds that it is, in fact, a teapot. Your assistant knows the reference and has been waiting politely for someone to make it relevant. Now it owns the punchline. The registration is conventional: one teapot, spout, lid and all, signed over to one name in the public record. The tea remains pending, as the description warns. The ownership does not.
